The United Federation

The United Federation of Northamer

A federal union of nations that has placed importance on the values of unity and trust. Founded by survivors of the Robian War, it was ultimately built on the idea of "freedom". As of today, they work together with their neighboring countries and G.U.N. to restore peace and understanding to the world.

A democratic republic, it is currently governed by President Steve Blaustein and an elected council of representatives. The nation's capital is Central City.

The flag represents the multitude of paths that come together in unity to form the nation. Red and blue symbolize the previous tensions of the original nations before their unity, shown by the overlay of the stars.

HISTORY

The United Federation rose from the ashes of three distinct political entities— Overland, The Republic of Acorn, and the Wolf Pack Nation.

Overland was a predominantly human-populated nation, ruled by the vicious Overlord Charlemagne. An incredibly xenophobic individual, he cut off the borders from most of the outside and established a no-contact policy for all inhabitants within. For whatever reason, Charlemagne held a vicious grudge against the neighboring bodies of Overland, and attempted to justify war on them multiple times to no avail.

The Republic of Acorn was originally a larger colony controlled by the Kingdom of Acorn. Under the rule of king Maxamillian Acorn, however, the citizens began to grow fed up with his lack of initiative. In an act of rebellion against the absent-minded king, the colonies seceded and created the Republic of Acorn in its place, with an acting council to govern the otherwise free citizens.

Finally, the Wolf Pack Nation was— and to a point still is —the oldest known settlement in Northamer. It began as a union of wolves, hence the name, but eventually grew to include all who wished to find a home. They took pride in their community, and always took time to make sure everyone was heard. This inherent loyalty earned respect from other nations.

Despite the growing tensions between some of the borders, they were ultimately at peace with one another. However, this all changed when Julian Kintobor attacked and the Robian War began. Being the homeland of the mad doctor, Overland was targeted first. It was swiftly overtaken by Kintobor's army due to the lack of internal resources to protect the civilians. Thousands were roboticized in the process.

Next, the Republic of Acorn was struck. The newborn country was woefully unprepared for an attack of this scale and suffered great losses. Its proximity to the Wolf Pack Nation alerted the citizens to the impending attack and they managed to fend off the invasion using natural obstacles surrounding them.

With the Wolf Pack Nation occupied, survivors from Overland and the Acorn Republic joined forces. Putting aside their differences, they banded together and launched several surprise attacks on Kintobor's forces. This bought enough time for the Kingdom of Acorn's military to enter the fray and successfully assassinate Kintobor, stopping the invasion.

With the roboticized victims safe and a cure being researched, all that was left was for the survivors to pick up the pieces. The Wolf Pack Nation, although having fought fiercely, suffered the most amount of casualties unrelated to roboticization. Meanwhile, the Republic of Acorn and Overland's governments were effectively dismantled in favor of the truce that helped win the war.

Together, the three nations worked to rebuild what they had lost. From the ashes of their homes rose a new nation, one founded on freedom, justice, and community... the United Federation.
